the "can we find a way" edition.
its just so much right now, i know.
i never thought this little audio diary would turn 16 and i sure didn't think social. economic, and environmental turmoil would all be coming to a head at the same, but here we are.
i guess, in short, what i wish to remind all of us is that we are in fact all connected.
set the fractures so bones can stitch.
Can we find a way? yes.
be patient, but not too patient...
as they say, its an interesting time to be alive!
as always each piece was tracked on a single day.
as always you make it all possible.

ABOUT THE TRACKS:

Part 1: this one was saved by my wife. sometimes when i'm unsure about a piece or a mix, i make her come down to my lair and listen. she never says much, but i watch her and i can figure out the things that don't hang together. if it wasn't for Ann, this one might have ended up in the never finished pile. more orchestrated than some. the core is a vox track recorded while playing the drum track.

Part 2: Ann got to be on the bench on this one. another example of creating an atmosphere to drum to as practice ritual and feeling the time to go ahead and hit the record button is...now.

Part 3: solo improvisation playing with looping concepts. i have performance coming with Winifred Haun and Dancers at the Cheney Mansion gardens in Oak Park on Oct 4th (outside, distanced, & masked).
it will be my first time in front of a paying audience since all this has started. anyway, i was toying with ideas that i might bring to the table for that performance and this is what i saved on sept 15th...
