we've reached the double digit milestone... the coveted tenth side to The Shut-In Sides!

thinking about machines and consciousness and the nature of sentience on this one. maybe its all the star wars i've taken in with my daughter-- we are taking in the skywalker saga leading up to a conclusion on may 4th. :)
when the machines start to think are you still morally superior to those who enslave bio engineered lifeforms?
are those who perceive non physical sentience more entitled to rule or is their duty protect?
by protecting are they actually taking control?
interesting things to think about...
i guess the real focus of this little album is those pesky machines.
when they wake up, do they crave ritual?
what do those rituals sound like?
are they jealous of the their flesh masters?
do they try to sound like them or is that just the perspective of a 21st century bag of bones and meat?

wow.
i do need to get out of the house!
enjoy the music. i'm enjoying making it.

about the Shut-In Sides project:

Pandemic got you down? Faced with an abundance of time on my hands and locked in a house with music equipment, i decided to do a little project to stay sane and productive...
presenting The Shut-In Sides!
derived from solo improvisation, each release is a long form exercise approx the length of a vinyl album side.
Rules? While each release has no limits on the number of improvised passes allowed once a chunk of music has been selected to mix, all tracking must take place in a single day.
Hopefully these recordings provide some 20 min spurts of vacation from these strange historic times.

i, like everyone else in the music industry, have found themselves suddenly unemployed...
